By Jim Foote & Keith Kass
Over the last few days, Josh and I have been counting down our Worst-to-Best MCU flicks. You can find Josh's HERE and mine HERE. The original plan had Josh and I giving you our predictions on certain events and aspects of Civil War.
Then Josh fell on his sword and became infected with THE SPOILERS. As he is an admin for a certain facebook group, he is the front line when it comes to blocking spoilerific posts. Well, the other day... he blocked one from the public, becoming infected in the process. So, in typical old school wrestling fashion, he tagged out before the match start.
Newcomer, Keith Kass, shall be joining me for these predictions. The fun part is we are coming at this from two completely different points of view. He hasn't read the comic and doesn't know very much about the characters in the comics. He's largely a movie goer. Myself, on the other hand, am pretty well versed in the comics and these characters. So you get to see two sets of predictions, one largely influenced by the comics and one not at all. Without waiting any further, roll that beautiful bean footage... I mean predictions.
1. What is the opening scene of the movie?
Keith: Opening scene will be Captain America trying to save Bucky. That would be a good way to set the tone for the movie.
2. Who wins the one-on-one between Iron Man and Cap?
Keith: Since it IS technically a Captain America movie, I think the one on one win goes to him. A shame seeing as Tony Stark brilliantly built his suit with his amazing intellect and Rogers got his powers by laying in a chair but whatever, that's neither here nor there.
3. Who wins the one-on-one between Black Panther and The Winter Bucky?
Keith: Black Panther, however, should beat Winter Soldier to make things even. And Bucky's not all there yet anyway.
4. Do any characters switch sides/teams?
Keith: They made such a big deal about Spider-Man being in this movie, he will probably have a big role. I say he switches sides and Scarlett Witch goes to Iron Man, seeing as he's basically trying to prevent another disaster like the one that destroyed her country.
Keith: I do think you will see a cameo from Nick Fury.
6. Which team wins the big battle?
Keith: Well if it's anything like real life, we'll find out how absolutely corrupt the government is... especially with Hydra sleeper cells still out there. So ultimately, Captain America's team wins albeit for the wrong reason. Ideally you should be able to trust the government and Iron Man should win but we live in anything but an ideal world. The government will show their hand, do something really bad and everyone will rally to Captain America's cause.
7. Who dies?
Keith: Captain America will probably be dead though. Baron Zemo will kill him.
8. Will there be any surprises?
Keith: As for surprise, I'll go out on a limb and say you get an appearance from [Agent] Coulson. He deserves a break. He's trying so damn hard to promote this movie on his show, he deserves a cameo lol.
9. What is the closing scene of the movie?
Keith: The last scene will be the formation of the new Avengers team that will ultimately be the focus of Avengers: Infinity War.
10. What will the post credits scene (or scenes) be?
Keith: Post credit scene definitely. I'd say a quick shot of Thanos maybe holding Cap's shield or show in some way he is happy at what happened during the movie. Perhaps he'll even remark now is the time to strike since they've been weakened.
There you have it, guys and gals. Which predictions do you agree with and which will be wrong? Tell us what you think will happen. After the weekend, we'll revisit these predictions and get out the scorecard. By then, I'm sure I will have seen it about a million times.
#TEAMCAP OR #TEAMIRONMAN ???
